A little Splash of Color!

I love the feel of colored pencils! The feeling of that sharp, sharp tip hitting that blank, open, and free sheet of paper that make all of my possibilities become a reality. That little splash of color that hits the sheet seems to brighten my day just a little more, and even those dark colors help me when I am on edge, and I keep feeling a sense of being lost. Even these little things in my life are the sort of things that make me feel like everything will be okay. These little aspects of my life are so important to me, and it is always good to know that even a pinch of color can make my day worth while!

Parathas...A little taste of my Life!

Parathas (Indian flat bread) are a snack I have enjoyed forever!Ever since I was a little girl, parathas were the food that always seemed to fill my stomach,at any time, and any where! Seeing all of the butter on it slowly trickle down the center and reach the ends of the bread would make my mouth water. I would slowly rip off a piece of the bread, seeing all of the steam curl into the air,and I would savor the taste as it would melt in my mouth. It was so enjoyable, and delicious that I kept wishing for more, and more. Parathas were always the food to fill the empty spots in me, and they will always do so throughout my life!

The sweet sounds of Jack Johnson

The sounds of Jack Johnson have always put me in a peaceful state of mind. The slow serenity of his voice while he is strumming the guitar makes me feel secure and happy. His music is always in one fluid motion, and I want to keep listening for hours, and hours, and hours. Listening to the beautiful lyrics of what goes on in Jack Johnson's life, and of his hopes and dreams, make me wonder what I want to know, and keep learning about everyday. Jack Johnson's music continually fills me with joy, and I wish I could be apart of making the magic of his music.

A Sense of my Home

The smell of incense takes me back to the wonders of my Indian culture and of my dear family in India. As the smell of a soft sandalwood incense fills the air of my home, the aroma of the warm summer air in India fills my mind. All of the memories of my visits to India, all of the laughs and stories that were told at my grandparents house in New Delhi, and even all of the lovely curries, daal, and all of my soul foods that I could smell every where I went. I relax at the thought of my family, and just being able to get the slightest whiff of a warm incense makes me feel closer to home when I feel that I am much to far away.
